Nuno Felt Scarf: Nuno felting is a fantastic way to make lightweight, wearable felted garments. By felting wool roving into fine silk cloth, students will learn a new felting technique and complete a scarf for wear this winter. Saturday, August 7, 1-5pm | $45 + $15 materials fee Felted Handbag of your Dreams: Make the handbag you've always wanted! Using Japanese felting books as inspiration, students will sketch out a unique bag design and then hand-felt it from wool roving. There will be lots of one-on-one feedback from the instructor. Techniques demonstrated: felt-making using a resist, making a seamless pocket, felted rope handles. This class is best for people with some felting experience. Sunday, August 1, 10-4pm | $75 + $20 materials fee Classes Below are in Southeast Portland at The 100th Monkey Studio: 110 SE 16th. To register, call: 503-232-3457. Advanced Nuno Felt Scarf: This class is designed for those who have taken the first Nuno Felting Class and are looking to hone their skills. Expanded techniques will be taught in a creative environment of experimentation. We will be creating a scarf-sized textile, but it can be treated as yardage or a wall-hanging if you wish.
