3/13/20 Update: Due to Oregon’s state of emergency, this workshop is postponed until August. I’ll post a new date here when it’s rescheduled. Wishes of health to all!
Art & Soul teams up with artist LeBrie Rich for a sewing event. We're making sturdy tote bags for Rose Haven, a community center in Northwest Portland serving women and children facing loss of home, abuse and other disruptive life experiences.
Sign up for a sewing shift and learn how to make simple and functional tote bags that help women in our community tremendously! Sewers of all levels welcome—if you have experience, that’s great. If you are a beginning sewer, that’s fine too.
We will donate all the bags to Rose Haven at the end of the event.
This event is an opportunity to de-stash! Bring any heavyweight fabric, nylon strapping, or trims that would be useful for big sturdy totes. We will have some of the fabric pre-cut, and will also welcome more!
This class is free for people signed up for one or more classes at Art and Soul.
